spinzester is built to need as little of your data as possible. This page is the complete and accurate list of what the app actually does, audited against the source code.
What stays on your device, only
spinzester stores the following on your device. None of it is sent to us. None of it syncs to iCloud. You can clear all of it from the in-app Settings screen, or delete the app entirely.
- Your browsing history of Spinitron pages — title, URL, and timestamp of each page you visit.
- Your listening history — for each track you play: artist, song, album, ISRC, when you played it, which Spinitron playlist it came from, and which station.
- A diagnostic event log — records internal anomalies for bug investigation. Does not contain your identity. You can share this with us via the Settings → Contact support button if you want to send a bug report.
- App preferences — whether you’ve been asked about notifications, and which music service you most recently saved a playlist to.
- Your Qobuz access token (only if you’ve signed in to Qobuz for the save-as feature) — stored in iOS Keychain. Does not sync to iCloud. Cleared when you sign out.
- Album artwork — cached images for visual continuity. Not personal data.
What third parties see when you use spinzester
- Spinitron.com receives your IP address, a standard mobile Safari User-Agent, and the URLs you browse — the same information any web browser sends when you visit a website. spinzester does not sign you in to Spinitron, and Spinitron treats you as an anonymous visitor. See Spinitron’s privacy policy.
- Apple Music receives your search queries and playback events when you tap a song to play it. This is handled by Apple’s MusicKit framework. spinzester itself never sees your Apple ID. See Apple’s privacy policy.
- Qobuz — only if you choose to sign in for the save-as feature — receives your Qobuz username and password directly through Qobuz’s own sign-in screen (we never see or store them), your access token, and the playlist data you save. See Qobuz’s privacy policy.
spinzester identifies itself to Qobuz with the developer’s contact email (john@spinzester.com) in the network request User-Agent string, so Qobuz can reach the developer if needed. This does not identify or refer to you.
What spinzester does not do
- No advertising. No advertising identifiers. No
ATTrackingManagerprompt. - No third-party analytics, tracking, or crash-reporting services.
- No account creation. The app does not collect your name, email address, or password.
- No access to your contacts, location, photos, calendar, microphone, camera, or motion data.
- No iCloud sync. Nothing leaves your device unless you explicitly send a support email or save a playlist to a third-party service.
If you sign up for early access at spinzester.com
We store your email address in Cloudflare D1 (database) and send you build invites and product updates via Resend. We don’t share or sell email addresses. One-click unsubscribe in every email.
Account deletion
spinzester does not create an account for you. To remove all data spinzester has stored on your device, either:
- Open spinzester → tap History → tap the gear icon → tap “Delete all local data.”
- Or delete the app from your home screen. iOS will remove all local data.
If you’ve signed in to Qobuz through spinzester, also use “Sign out of Qobuz” in Settings to clear the access token, or sign out of Qobuz directly via their app or website.
